If you've ever dreamed of staying in a historic log cabin while surrounded by the natural beauty of Indiana Dunes National Park, now’s your chance. The park's Cypress Log Cabin, one of the original Century of Progress Homes from the 1933 Chicago World’s Fair, is now available for lodging. This one-of-a-kind stay along the shores of Lake Michigan has been made possible thanks to a collaboration between Indiana Landmarks and IN the Dunes

A New Life for the Historic Landmark

Originally built for the 1933 Chicago World’s Fair as part of the Century of Progress exhibit, the Cypress Log Cabin was designed by Architect Murray D. Heatherington and sponsored by the Southern Cypress Manufacturer's Association of Jacksonville, Florida to showcase unique qualities and many uses of Cypress wood. After the fair, the home was transported to Beverly Shores, where it has stood for nearly a century. Over the decades, it served as a private residence before being carefully restored through a collaborative leasing program between Indiana Landmarks, the National Park Service, and private partners.

Now, thanks to the efforts of IN the Dunes, Indiana Landmarks, and Indiana Dunes National Park, this historic cabin is being opened to the public as a short-term rental, allowing guests to enjoy a unique stay steeped in American architectural history.
